We found this to be one of the most relaxed hotels we've stayed in. It has an Art Deco theme and all areas are immaculate. The rooms were of a good size and standard and kept spotlessly clean. It was at the back of the hotel, road noise was'nt a problem and overlooked gardens of properties opposite - quite nice.... more

very good hotel, clean, the workers are very nice , and if you go with children is fantastic because the rooms have microwave and stove. the only negative point that e see is the breakfast, all thay the same things, doenst change and the hours is beetween 0700 and 1030 am but at 10h00 they are already cleaning the tables,... more

Had a really nice week at the hotel. Pools and loungers not too crowded. Maid service and facilities in self catering room excellent. Organised our own trips into Funchal on bus, in retrospect could have been more adventurous on buses as they go all over the island. This hotel is in a great location, close to bars, restaurants, buses, taxis etc. We had booked a twin room but were given an apartment on the 2nd floor overlooking the main road, which we were very happy with as had a sitting room as well as kitchenette. First time visitor to Madeira. Hotel was in an excellent location for public transport, restaurants & supermarket. Used the "hop on hop off" red tourist bus, beware !! the bell to alert the driver you want to get off was broken so in two days ended up doing the round trip 3 times!! Good value for 10E. First impressions were bad: the lobby is dark,low-ceilinged and depressing. Check-in left alot to be desired. Studio was large,well appointed and had a big terrace/balcony. We stayed half board and the staff were excellent. Food was very good and we never got board of the menu. Madeira was beautiful. more
