If you are going to Funchal choose the old town -great restaurants etc much better than hotel district check out the restaurant Riso (turn lrft out of back gate of hotel) great views good and different food more

My wife and I plus two friends spent 4 nights 8th-12th November 2009 at the Albergaria Dias. It is just a shame it was not longer. Spent two wonderful weeks at this hotel in September this year. Mr Dias ensures everyone is having a good time and that everything is ok. He comes and chats to everyone each day, always wanting to please. The hotel is spotless, breakfast excellent, staff friendly and helpful.
