We were a bit worried before we went as it is seen as an older persons holiday but we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed at the Madeira Panoramico Hotel which was excellent. A sea view room is essential. I think next time we would find a hotel in the Lido area as the climb to the Panoramico was quite steep.... more
