We have just come back from a week in this hotel. Wow the staff were fantastic! The hotel was lovely, our room was a good size with a huge bed, sea view with a balcony. We were extremely happy on arrival. We were on a half board basis and the food, although buffet style, was really good. Fresh food was... More

Me and my boyfriend have just come back from a week here. This was our second stay here, first being Apr 12, thought we would come in May this year, and see the flower festival. The hotel is great, what really makes it fantastic is the staff. The bar staff, we got to know all 4, Ricardo, Jorge, Carlos and... More

We choose this hotel at random as it looked nice in the Thomson's holiday book.We had never been to Madeira before and had no idea of what to expect. There is no other way to cover the Hotel than ''Wow'' the Staff, the Pool, the Rooms, the Food, the Roof terrace with it's Jacuzzi and the Honesty bar, ALL get... More

Having read a lot of reviews here I feel compelled to write a review, for the first time - ever! We stayed over New Year 2012, I was a bit wary at first having ALWAYS stayed at 5* hotels in Madeira and elsewhere and this was a bit of a last minute holiday. We were totally thrilled with the whole... More

I read the reviews before going to Madeira and as usual there were a few negative comments, however we found this hotel to be very nice, with friendly staff, nice room, plenty of variety in the dining room. Yes, it is up a hill but EVERYWHERE in Funchal is up a hill! I would definately stay there again and recommend... More

Third stay at this hotel and will definitely be back. Staff are really helpful, friendly and polite. Rooms are comfy clean and spacious (however a sea view is a must as rooms with mountain view only have a small balcony). Breakfasts are excellent....omelettes to order! Dinner is buffet style plenty of choice but not always what you are looking to... More

Spotlessly clean hotel, friendly helpful staff, sea view rooms are bigger & get the sun, only six wooden coat hangers each which wasn't really a problem but if I'd known I would have packed a few. Hotel is at the top of a very steep hill, we are in our 50's & 60's & fortunately we are able bodied so... More
