We went for the flower festival, so wanted something in town where we could walk to events, without a huge uphill hike back. We are seniors, so one consideration was the elevator. Perfectly adequate pension in central Funchal. Stayed 3 nights at beginning and end of a walking holiday. Rooms are a bit small but clean and quiet. Breakfast unimaginative but adequate. We stayed in nearby annexe which was a bit of a pain to get in and out of. Not sure what parking would be like but hotel is only 5... more
