Whilst this hotel is centrally located, it is poor value comparatively in Porto with much nicer hotels nearby for very little extra cost. Whilst it must have given a facelift in the last year or so, this was very superficial...In the room I could feel uneven concrete beneath the carpet. There were hardly any hangers in the wardrobe. Lots of... more

A good place to stay if You just need to sleep in Porto not far away from main Trinidade Metro station for reasonable money. Nothing special though. Staff was helpful and breakfast was OK but our room was a bit dirty and walls looked like the needed some renovation. Basic furnishings. more

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life and I have stayed in many over the years, but MALaposta, MAL meaning BAD in portuguese is a very good name for this hotel, because it has dirty carpets and walls in reception, hallways and rooms. Dirty bathroom with a ligt missing, bedroom with one light missing, old bed with... more

The hotel is not very clean. Some of the rooms (207 e.g.) had huge humidity , blackstains on the waal and closet and a racy musty odour fiiling up the hole room. The bathroom is moderate though pretty small. The breakfast is OK but the coffee is impossible and the choices are not cholesterol free: butter and butter everywhere. Instant... more

The room was basic but clean. The breakfast was ok. The tiny bar was not a place to meet people it was a little back room at the foot of the stairs which you had to use as the lift wasn't working. The reception people tried to be helpful and were polite. The location is quite good being right by... more

I stayed at the Malaposta for the weekend and really enjoyed it. I have to admit I was a bit nervous after reading the reviews on this website, but that was totally unfounded. One thing I won't be doing anymore is taking any notice of what is said on tripadvisor.com - it's totally misleading!!! more

. We spent 5 days at the Malaposta Hotel over easter and having read some of the reviews we were not expecting too much from this hotel. We found it to be quite central to the main attractions although all uphill from the riverfront area. The room we had was quite spacious and was clean & basic, the bathroom was... more

I stayed in the Malaposta four years ago and thought it was a tidy little place. So when I had the chance to visit Porto again, it was the first place on my list. What a mistake! The room I was given didn't even have the most basic of creature comforts (like a clock), and it had a sicky, stale... more

Despite being advertised as recently renovated, the hotel could do with updating. However, it is clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and it is centrally located. Ideal if you're on a budget. more
