The rooms and bathroom were so small compared to American standards. The rooms were clean, sparce, and not attractive. We could not even open our suitcases. Great location, easy walk to everything. Very noisy at night from neighbor's barking dog and poor accoustics, where we could hear other people coming and going. The breakfast was very good. more

Overall it was a good place to stay. First we were in a good size room but with a view that was ok! We have asked about the possibility of being moved to the top floor. We were them given a room on the sixth floor with a massive balcony and great view. We loved it. Overall the staff team... more

This hotel is in a great location very close to the new Acropolis museum (3min walk), the Acropolis itself (5min walk), Plaka (5-7min walk), Temple of Olympian Zeus (5-7min walk) and Athens city centre(10min walk) . All these locations are in easy walking distance, even in 35+ degree heat. The breakfast is good even though it is not your American... more

The good: My room was ready in the morning upon arrival. It was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the room was so small, there wasn't even floor space for my luggage. The balcony was about 2' wide (not enough to accommodate a small chair!) and overlooked an alley, where every day, the view was of a neighbor's laundry.... more

We booked this hotel via a BA flight+hotel package offer so got a very good deal. As already described by other travelers, this hotel is in an excellent location: 5 minutes' walk from the Acropolis, the newly opened Acropolis museum and Acropolis station. The old parts such as Plaka and Monastiraki are all within walking distance (10 minutes to the... more

Only a hop and a jump from Acropolis (Both ancient, museum and metro station); good eating places nearby (eg God's Restaurant & Taverna Platiotissa) and a great souvenir shop on the corner maybe 50-60 metres from hotel. Have big sizes for men (Upto 7XL) in T shirts. Easy walk to Temple of Zeus, Hadrians Gate, St Catherines byzantine church, etc.... more

Some friends recommended we stay at the Hotel Philippos as it was very close to the Acropolis. We were pleased with the hotel. A 5 minute walk from the hotel will put you next to the base of the Acropolis and the museum. From there a brief walk (couple of minutes) will lead you to all the shops and restaurants... more

We stayed at the Philippos during April 09, a family of 2 Adults and 2 young Children, aged 2.5 and 5 years. The hotel was nicely appointed with friendly informative staff. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the only downside to the hotel was the inability to obtain meals at lunch and dinner, this is alleviated to an extent by... more
