Fresh decor and nice sized air conditioned room. We had a 4-bed room for the family for a short (2 night) stopover) which was nicer than expected. The hotel is a stone's throw from the tourist area of Plaka and located equidistant between metro stations at Monastiriki and Syntagma. Overall a pleasant stay. more

Hotel is situated just well enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough (steps away). The room was good enough at 75 EUR (w/ bkfst) and the staff was nice enough. We were on the 6th floor in a room that had been remodeled but obvioulsy remained unfinished in the bathroom. The moulding around the door frame was... more

Decent clean hotel with nice new furnishings and spacious rooms. Very good location in Athens but also quite noisy on friday and saturday nights. We stayed with our baby though and she slept fine! Smelt like cigarette smoke (but where in Athens doesn't?) and lift was too small for pram. Staff spoke English well and were very friendly and helpful. more

We were greatly impressed by this hotel. The most important features for us when we travel has to be location and price. On these two criterea alone, the Achilleas scores top marks. The hotel has recently been re-refurbished. All the previous stained carpets which other reviewers referred to seem to have been removed and replaced by wooden flooring. The spotlessly... more

I stayed two nights at the Achilleas at the beginning of September, and really enjoyed it. The location is fantastic--within walking distance of Syntagma Square and the Evzones changing of the guard in front of the parliament building, Plaka, Monastiraki, and all the ancient sites. It's also close to the metro stop that goes straight to Piraeus (the harbor towns... more

I have taken school groups to Europe for years, and seen a wide variety of hotels. The Achilleas is an excellent budget choice for central Athens.Located just off Syntagma Square,it provides an easy walk to all of the historic center of the city.It has had an interior makeover & update that make it very cozy.Breakfast is fair.Staff helpful.Rooms are good, and large by... more

With this hotel you get what you pay for. The rooms are quite old and small. Our room smelt bad and the air conditioning did not work. The staff are friendly until you need something...such as the air conditioning turned on and then they are not so accomodating. There is no parking outside of the hotel, so if you are... more

A friend and I shared a twin room here in October 2006. We thought the hotel was easy to find, it's located near to Syntagma Square where you can easily get buses, trams and trains. All the sights are within easy walking distance. We didn't find the location to be at all noisy as the hotel was located off a... more

I had read reviews that made me a bit nervous to stay here but we had no problems. The location was good. We were able to walk to a few places and the trains/buses/trams were an easy 5 minute walk. We stayed here at the start of a 3 month trip. We had a family room (2 adults, 2 children).... more

We stayed in this hotel for three nights on our Honeymoon - 2 at the beginning of our trip to Greece, and one on our last night before heading to the airport for home. Overall, we would stay again - it was in a very convenient location, and since we were mostly out seeing the sights, we didn't need anything... more
