So good we went back to it on our last night after the islands. Seedy area at night - the young men hanging around in the streets nearby are a bit intimidating- but we experienced and saw no trouble. We found the hotel very easily - about 10 minutes walk from Monastiriki metro station. Our room on the 5th floor was quiet, spotlessly clean and a fair size. The hotel is beautifull, rooms are warm and romantic, only the porch was small. We stayed at room 410 and we could see Akropolis from the small porch. The hotel itself is fantastic for the budget traveler. Safe, very clean, modest furnishings and quiet. The rooftop breakfast area/bar provides an amazing view of the Acropolis and the rest of Athens. As many have written, the location is dodgy...namely Evripides Street. In the daytime, there are no issues...a regular busy street filled with Southeast Asia, Chinese and Arab businesses.... more

The breakfast was great, the hotel staff was nice, the hotel itself was clean and quite nice but the location was sooooo scary...I went with another girlfriend of mine and being two girls in that area is extremely scary. We never went out after dark because it was not comfortable. For a family it's fine. more

Very friendly staff, great location, great value for money, excellent view to Acropolis. Ask for room 606 with own BIG balcony overlooking Acropolis - WAUW!. Only minor thing with room 606 is that you're right underneath the roof terrace where breakfast is served from 7 am. The noise is easily ignored with some ear plugs. We stayed here one night as we were passing thru from Crete and had to catch a flight the next day. We arrived at 7 AM having come off the morning ferry. The front desk person was very nice. We first stayed at the Evripedes Hotel in November 1965 -- with our two daughters, ages 1 and 5. The next time we stayed there was several days ago, April 2009. And it is still a very good bargain and a nice place to stay. Nice clean rooms, very helpful people at the desk, and a convenient location for walking... more

This hotel was good. The only downfall was the area! I was in the top floor room, which was priced very decently around $60 and had an excellent view of the Akropolis. However, my room was one floor below the dining area where the hotel serves it free breakfast; I was there over the weekend, and children could be heard... more
