This hotel is very basic and therefore cheap and not in the best area of Athens as it is surrounded by sex shops and the streets are pretty dirty. Having said that, the area has a lot of character and there are some very cool bars at the end of the road before you reach Plaka. The Plaka area and... more

I stayed at this hotel in August 2007 for three nights. I was traveling alone and got a single room which was very basic and clean. For sixty US dollars a night I can't complain especially since breakfast is included. The staff are very nice and are willing to point things out on a map and give you directions. The... more

My friend and I (both single women in our mid-20s) were put here by our travel agent. First big sign something was wrong: As we were navigating the Omonoia Square Neighborhood trying to find the hotel (and looking like the typical American tourists with our big backpacks and map) a police officer stopped us and asked if he could help... more

i can not advise people strongly enough not to stay here. i walked down the street to the hotel as no taxi will go to this area as they say its not safe enough for them to do so. i asked police directions and they said not to stay here as it is the capital street of violent crimes and... more

put quite simply the other reviews sum the situation up very accurately but i will add my two bobs worth.. the street is dangerous and smells like urine, there are thugs that crowd the road right in front of the establishment, they will eye you off very closely while you check in and out, there are drug dealers and prositutes... more

Our travel agent booked this hostel for us which was far from any sort of main city locations down dirty, sketchy, urine-filled streets lined with bold street vendors. Staff spoke little-to-no English and were not very friendly. Rooms were large but dimly lit, had poor beds and linens, and street-noise was overwhelming throughout the entire night and into the morning...On... more

After staying at the Athens Hilton for a conference (a great hotel!), I paid far too much to stay at this dump. My room was around A$200 a night and for that I got a fuzzy TV set, the world's smallest shower, a shared bathroom in which paper could not be flushed, and the kind of bed and carpetting common... more

All prior reviews accurately describe this hotel. Avoid if possible. There is much better accomodation for the same price. more

This is a dreadful hotel in an awful part of Athens. We booked the sisrer hotel but got there and found there was some mistake and we were moved (at their expense, big deal) to here. We were taken by taxi and dumped here. The street is in the red light district and full of drug takers/dealers/ people selling stuff... more

We stayed in Amaryllis Inn for 2 nights in may. Unfortunately, we booked the hotel before reading the reviews.. We were, however, pleasantly surprised about the rooms and the hotel itself. We were given a room with 4 beds instead of the requested two (don't know why) so the room was very spacious. The room was quite clean, as was... more
