Me and my girlfriend went to Greece in mid-July and stayed at the Alassia Hotel. Previous to the departure greek friends told us that the Omonia square and its surroundings have the highest crime rate in Athens (except maybe for the Piraeus port area) but we thought it couldn't be that bad. Well: IT WAS. The street is very dirty... more

The Hotel rooms are small even on European Standards. The taxi we took from the airport couldn't find a place to park in front of the hotel, he left us half a block away. It's dark, the elevators are small (european standard), the clerk and reception desk could use some fine tunning towards dealing with non greek tourism, the bathroom... more

visited Athens with my wife for 4 days early march. this is the second time we stayed at The Alassia hotel which was recently refurbished . We liked the new wooden floors and new decoration in the rooms. Service was once again very good and a late check out was given without any charge. Hotel's position is excellent 1 minute... more

I have really no complaints- and am very surprised about the comments about red light districts and hookers here. The hotel is spitting distance from Omonia square, the hub of modern Athens. It is walking distance from the Archaeological Museum, the Exharchia neighbourhood, the central market, and a 30 min walk to the old center. So it is not in... more

A cheap hotel right in the heart of the city. No red light district here (!!!) but you get exactly what you pay for; cheap service. Neirther our room was cleaned during our 4 night stay in the hotel nor were our towels changed. In fact they were folded carefully and placed on a dirty shelf under the sink. The... more

we stayed in this hotel for 2 nights upon arrival and again 2 nights, 2 weeks later on our departure. If all you want is a bed with a few simple amenities, this hotel is ok. Our air conditioner was broken the first 2 nights and only blew air but the room never cooled down. Upon our return, the same... more

The location of this Hotels leaves nothing to the imagination, as its located in the Red light district of Athens. The room was ok and I guess you get ehat you pay for, but the location was nothing to desire. more

The hotel is located in the shady area of Athens. My flight arrived after 10pm, took a taxi to hotel. I should have guessed something was wrong; when I told the taxi driver I was staying near Omonia square, he laughed out loud as if I was joking. The first thing I noticed was prostitutes on every street corner surronding... more

My flight got in to Athens at 3:30 in the morning so I was only looking to book into a hotel for a few hours sleep before making my way down the Grecia coast to my destination. The Alassia has a lovely marble reception and very friendly staff, even in the middle of the night! The man who checked me... more
