The Nefeli is conveniently located close to the Plaka (albeit a bit difficult for some taxi drivers to find). Its best features are location and price, but I wouldn't consider it a "find" by any means. Rooms are small and there is no sound-proofing. A nice, small hotel in a perfect location away from the chacophony of Athens. In the morning you step outside and wander Plaka long before the shops open or the rest of the tourists descend. The Nefeli would be nice if the owners weren't so grumpy. The situation is good apart from the filthy derelict sight across the road with it's plethora of dozens of cats which make the area where the hotel is smell to high heaven. The breakfast is spartan and the woman serving is dour and austere. I disliked the whole experience... more
