My boyfriend and I traveled to Athens in late August and spent one night at the Magna Grecia. We were very jet-lagged when we arrived and headed straight to the Magna Grecia hotel from the airport in hopes of taking a nap. When we arrived, no one was at the front desk and we were early for check-in. The manager... more

Loved the hotel! The location was ideal, near Monastiraki, Plaka, and the Acropolis. Nice room and excellent view of the Acropolis, both from our room and the breakfast room. My wife also loved hearing the church bells ring each night! more

In real estate location is everything. For the Magna Grecia they take a great location. One block north of the Plaka one block south of Ermou shopping. Add in a great view-we opened our window and the Accropolis was looming front row center in the background w/ a bussling cathederal plaza in th foreground. And top it off w/ friendly... more

I booked an Acropolis View Room six months in advance of my stay in late May. When I checked in, the manager asked if I was "single" and then told me my room was not available and placed me in a very small interior room with a window that opened on a inside sealed airshaft. When I asked for the... more

This place is definitely easy on the eyes - the rooms are beautifully appointed with chandeliers, gorgeous drapery, nice bedding, and the ceilings are high. Everything is clean. There is also an air conditioner in the room - perfect for summer heat. The view was unbeatable - our balcony looked right out onto the Acropolis. The staff were very friendly.... more

I tried to check in to hotel. I had reserved two rooms through Expedia. I was told that they did not have my reservations. I showed them my confirmation from Expedia. They told me that they never received reservation and this has happened before. I called Expedia and they confirmed my reservation. The hotel was sold out and could not... more

Our stay at the Magna Grecia was simply amazing. We stayed for 4 nights this month (May 2008). Upon reading fair reviews here on Trip Advisor, we reserved a room 9 months prior to our trip. Although we did not receive a confirmation e-mail from the hotel when we e-mailed them one month prior to our trip to confirm, we... more

I stayed at Magna Grecia for a week this month (May ‘08) I had a room on the third floor facing the Acropolis. The room rate was said to be 175 Euro, but I was given a discount. This is the second time I have stayed at Magna Grecia, and, besides the wonderful view, I have been impressed with the... more

We spent three nights in Athens before a cruise, and researched our hotel choices carefully. We decided on Magna Grecia, and were not disappointed. The hotel is across from the square outside the Cathedral, and we enjoyed people-watching from our 2nd floor room. The room was decent size with an acceptable bathroom, and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was... more
