We were caught out by the XL collapse and had to return home via Athens instead of direct from Mykonos. Decided to stay 2 nights in the city to be sure not to miss the new flight but had difficulty finding availablity via web at short notice. Theoxenia was recommended in the Greek Island Hopping guide so we phoned and booked - at 62E p.n. not too bad. The hotel accepts CASH ONLY - how antideluvian!

It is situated quite close to Omonia metro station, no problem to walk, not in the worst area but not exactly a tourist zone, surrounded by shops and offices in a pedestrianised street.

A tad old fashioned but clean with a decent breakfast at 6E extra in an attractive dining room. Reasonably quiet. Main grouse is that the airconditioning seems to waft stale cigarette smells through the rooms!
