As you walk into the lobby, you will feel overwhelmed by the tackiest hotel foyer in Greece (probably): there are a million candles, statuettes, plastic flowers, cheesy paintings, fake Greek gods, and the lot. Greeted extremely warmly on arrival. The reception was very homely. Room was very cosy, woodpannelled, came complete with tv and a/c - the a/c was an extra 5 euros though. A little sneaky. We stayed at Hotel Varonos and were very impressed. First, I had actually booked the wrong night, and the hotel was still able to accommodate us in the same room at no extra charge. The husband and wife who run the hotel are very friendly and gave everyone a small gift when they left. Their breakfast buffet is awesome too.... more
