The Socrates Apartments advertised as being in Stalis are not, they are in Malia. Why Thomson call it Stalis when the postal address is Malia, taxi drivers get annoyed when delivering fares to the wrong town and the staff all say it is Malia I cannot understand. These apartments are set back a little way from the main road along a well lit side road and are in easy walking distance of both Malia and Stalis. We stayed at the end of the season and the resort was getting quiet, which was what we were after. Apartment clean and staff were always helpful and friendly - when we had a problem with the shower it was fixed within a couple of hours. Pool was perfect for the children, with a pleasant bar and a wee swing... more

This was one of the cleanest value for money group of apartments I have been to. The staff where friendly and could not do enough to help. Service from the pool side bar and food quality was excellent no need to walk into Stallis to save a Euro for breakfast. I would suggest hiring a car to give more freedom... more
