I am writing in defence of the above hotel particularly the staff. I read several reviews before we went (we had already booked!) in which people said that the staff at this hotel were surly and unhelpful-we found them charming ,very helpful and friendly. It had been stated that the beds were hard-most Greek beds are hard but in this... more

I had a terrible experience at the hotel Kriti. Money, my mobile and my iPod were stolen right out of my room while I was out for dinner. No doubt an inside job as there were no signs of a break-in. The hotel receptionist was rude and not helpful and only stated the obvious that one should not leave valuables... more

First of all we would like to inform you that we feel very sorry for all the guests that were victims of the above mentioned burglars, that later showed out to be a team of at least four persons who passed through many hotels in the town of Chania, and unfortunately managed to get into a lot of rooms and...

We stayed here in June 09. My partner is Greek and so he wanted to say in Chania. Over the year I have stayed in many of the 'boarding houses' and while offering personal service I really do miss a pool. So this time i put my foot down. And he his! We needed somewhere affordable in Chania with a... more

We booked this hotel because of its location in central Chania and availability of swimming pool. The hotel turned out to be worn-off and without much amenities. The swimming pool was small and ugly. The worst part of the experience was a Greek heavy metal festival on a concert ground across the street. It ended past midnight and started with... more

The room was shabby but the worst part was the location, directly across the street from an open-air concert podium. We asked to be moved to a room on the back of the hotel because we had to catch an early flight but were told it was not possible. The concert started at about 6 pm (Nirvana covers sung badly... more

We would like to express our point of view regarding the two above reviews, from guests staying in our hotel and leaving from here with negative impressions. First of all we would like to explain, that the noise that the above reviewers are mentioning, came from a theater that is situated opposite the hotel, and unfortunately during one of the...

We were impressed with the location, down the road to the bay where there are an abundance of coffe shops, restaurants, taverners, that are nearly always full of locals......, good atmosphere.... In the other direction is the town of Chania, busy and most enjoyable, The hotel is on a road so expect some traffic noise, but close the balcony at... more

Today we arrived back from Kriti hotel in Chania. The hotel has a good location almost central with a bay one street away and the city centre within walking distance. There is also a free parking behind the hotel which is usefull. The hotel interior needs better decorations infact when you enter the main door you would not be impressed.... more

I was attending a conference in Chania and KRITI looked like a nice option due to its proximity to city center and a beach 50 m away. Nice for kids, eh? Well, the beach is not a beach to begin with. Overall, the hotel is overrated. The beds are so hard that a colleague attending the same conference had to... more

We would like to give our answer regarding the above review. First of all we would like to point out that our hotel is situated in the centre of the town of Chania, in a very attractive place, just a few steps away from the sea, the most central point of Chania - the Old Market Square - and the...

Kriti's location nearby major Chania attractions is good, and its service level generally accapteble. But, this should not deceive you; this is a tricky hotel, and try to avoid it !!! Here are some of experiences of our single night stay there: 1. Our reservation was for a room for 2, they gave us a small room for 2, and... more

Regarding the review by “siteg” sent on the 10th of August, we would like to point out that we consider it very pity that some people are spending their time writing reviews not based on true facts, obviously to reach the effect of harming the hotel. At the arrival of the guests actually three persons checked in, and though the...

I booked this hotel asking a sea view. Result : Car park view!!! Anyway, the room was very small with bas brightness. It was terrible. Hopefully it was only for one night!!! Regarding the above review we would like to point out that 32 of our totally 98 rooms have a view over the sea, and when our guests require sea view rooms we always make sure that they will be allocated in one of the rooms on the front side of the hotel with a view over the sea. The rest...
