Travelling with Elizawashere we arrived late in the traditional hotel. They were expecting us and even made us a nice greek meal at 22:30u. Although we stayed in the standard room (and they have several luxurious ones) we found all we needed and the A/C we didn't even use. You definitely need some protection against the musquitos if you dodn't... more

Jo, the manager gave me a lovely welcome and because it's still early in the season, gave me the best room available - with a four poster bed, huge veranda - completely beautiful. I had done a lot of driving in the week before, so just wanted a few days here to completely relax and I couldn't have found abetter... more

We have just returned from a relaxing holiday at Elia. It is a wonderful small hotel in a 200 year old farmhouse run like a country house. very peaceful with lovely walks in the vicinity and further afield. wonderful greek food cooked by the chef Taki. Jo is the manager and really knows how to make you feel welcome but... more

My husband and I and our two small dogs spent a very peaceful and casual week at the lovely Elia Inn. It has less than 10 rooms I believe, some with private balconies if you want private dining, each different and tastefully renovated, as is the entire premises,. The pool and dining area are serene with a lovely view of... more

This place is advertised as a spa yet I had to book everything in advance. The sauna and steam rooms need a while to warm up and on the day we wanted massages, the woman (who lives half an hour away) was not available. I asked where the vegetable garden was to see the fresh produce that is mentioned in... more

This was the second leg of our honeymoon following on from Ammos hotel near Chania (the best hotel ever ever!). We were looking forward to a personalised treatment plan, our maisonette apartment and great greek food. The reality was not exactly as hoped. Treatments The treatment plan mentioned on the website - the main attraction as far as I was... more

Elia is a converted 200 year old farmhouse, a hideout during the 2nd World war - it is peaceful, atmospheric and authentic. Of course this means that our rooms are not new and modern, though we romantic four poster beds, and each room has it's own style and signature. We try to make the atmosphere here as much as possible...

This is a lovely place to stay away from he hustle and bustle of Crete's tourist resorts - up in the hills but with panoramic views towards the sea. Owner, George, has renovated this property with excellent taste and furnished the rooms with period furniture. Most rooms have lovely terraces where you can take your breakfast. Lovely rooftop teerrace, lovely... more

A beautiful guesthouse with warm, personal service. Amidst olive groves with beautiful sunset views, this is truly a great place to get away from it all. It is a bit difficult to find privacy as guests are all enclosed within the same place and eat together but there is a nice sense of camaraderie between everyone. The meals are more... more

A lovely B&B about 30 minutes from Chania. Great place to take raod trips into the surrounding countryside. We stayed in a room with the bed upstairs from the bathroom and sitting room. Very nicely decorated. Pool has lovely views out into the countryside. Staff are very nice and there is a small spa if you care to get a... more

Spent a week here - our honeymoon. We'd booked the best room at the hotel, which came with its own veranda - the room was spacious and clean. We decided to eat almost all our evening meals at the hotel - you can eat them on the terrace, which has wonderful views over the surrounding villages. The food was excellent... more
