We stayed here for a night in a twin room (there was a double and a queen bed). A fabulous little find with a balcony overlooking the markets. Right in the middle of the old town amongst the hustle and bustle - a 3 minute walk to the port with all the bars and restaurants. Our hosts were lovely and... more

I stayed at Mme Bassia for two nights in August 2009. As I was only going to be in Chania for a short time, I wanted something in the center of old town, within walking distance of the shops and the harbor. Mme Bassia was ideal. I emailed Nectarios in advance of my trip and made a reservation. The rooms... more

If you want to explore the lovely old part of Chania, you cannot beat Mme Bassia in terms of location. Nektarios, the owner, was very friendly and really helpful, suggesting many places to visit and some lovely restaurants. Really spacious room too! more

I stayed at Mme Bassia's for two nights. It was very comfortable and conveniently located place to stay, the prices are reasonable and the staff and owners very nice and helpful with information about things like car rental and restaurants. The guests staying at Mme Bassia's get a special discount at the shop downstairs Special thanks to Manos for carrying... more

I recently spent 5 days in Chania, Crete for a friend's wedding. I knew that I'd be spending a lot of time with the gang, so I wanted to find just the right place to stay: convenient to the harbor but quiet in the evenings. Mme Bassia fit the bill perfectly. When I first arrived in Chania, I was a... more

Mme Bassia, what else do you need while in Chania ? Very well located right in the center of the old town of this charming city, easy accessible, very calm. Mr Nectarios, the owner, is simply adorable, speaks well English. Rooms are very well but simply decorated. No show off. Really true. Little common kitchenette. No doubt that Mme Bassia... more

We spent a couple of nights at the Mme Bassia. It was a nice clean hotel with a decent size room and very nice bathroom (for Greece!) The couple running the place were very friendly and welcoming. While this place is on the main pedestrian shopping area, we had a room on the top floor so didn't notice any noise..... more

My husband and I went Europe and spent 12 days in Greece. Among all the lodgings which we stayed in Europe including Greece, Mme Bassia is our top favourite. The location is great, near to the port, within walking distance from the bus station. Pricing is good and value for money. Room is spacious. Most importantly what makes it our... more

I almost don't want to write a review of Mme Bassia as I wish I could keep it a secret! However, I think the other reviews kind of give the game away, and it would be unfair not to give this fantastic place the credit it deserves. So, here is why Mme Bassia is so great... THE LOCATION: Mme Bassia... more
