Hotel Theofilos (Theophilos) in Chania was my choice for my one week stay this summer. The hotel was not bad. Rooms were clean and recently renewed. However, bathroom was too simple, small and inconvenient. Regarding location, I must admit that hotel was rather far from the city center -on foot- but this was not a problem for us since we had rent a car.
The main reason for my negative review is hotel services. It was a small famlily business with not at all professional style. No formalities and common services were availiable (internet access, telephone access, credit card payment, etc). I was impressed when I was asked to send money by post for booking since I am always using online systems. On arrival, I realized that the price did not include breakfast, although during phone booking they had informed me that breakfast was included in the price of 60euros/night/double room.
