2 stars hotel...no more. pretty basic, immaculate clean.Hard matresses and poor breakfast.Excellent location, just 200metres from pedestrian 25th August street and 300metres from the Venetian Port.Appropiate staff but very grumpy grey hair lady serving breakfast!! Try to persuade the staff to give you a room with a view to the Venetian port. more

We stayed at the Irini on our last night in Crete as our previous accommodation had double booked us. We looked in Lonely Planet and this place seemed to get a good write up although there were some worrying reviews on this website - however we didn't really have much choice and it was only one night... On arrival I... more

We arrived at Hotel Irini late at night and were completely fooled by the elegant lobby. At first sight it looked as if we were going to be rewarded by our splurge as the hotel was expensive, and the shining lobby promised luxury. NOT SO! Besides the dingy colors, cheap decor and cramped quarters, our shower had no hot water... more

The hotel is in the back streets of the city, around a 5 minute walk away to either the central square or the Venetian Fortezza at the port. We booked the hotel for one night as we needed to be at the ferry port early the next morning. The hotel is fine, very basic rooms, but that what you expect... more

We booked the Irini Hotel after seeing its advertising in travel brochures and on the internet. This is probably one of those prime times when pictures don't paint a thousand words. We arrived late (about 8pm) and check-in was easy. The lobby was clean and presentable, in total opposition to its surroundings, which felt almost dangerous. The room was very... more

Reception area still looks smart and breakfast is acceptable. However, rooms and especially bathrooms have seen much better days. An ok place for one night but totally unsuitable as a vacation hotel. Many much smarter hotels in the vicinity. more

We needed one nights accomodation in Hyraklio before an early ferry ride the next morning. We drove in looking for a hotel near the port. Found a few upmarket ones but they would have been too expensive. So one of the boutique hotels sent us to Irini. Foyer looked ok - more importantly, they had a cheap room available for... more

We had requested smaller hotels and thus, our rooms in all the cities we stayed in, in Greece were less than what we are used to in the US. The desk clerks (I only saw 2 total the entire 3 days we were there.) were helpful and friendly. When I left my camera at the winery, the clerk called the... more

The Irini was a little bit of a comedown after staying at the Marin Dream hotel the previous night. The hotel itself isn't bad, just a little out of date with a dorm like feel. The rooms are fairly large, have air conditioning and balconies (though our view was of an old, possibly condemned house). The bathroom was a little... more
