After trying to book a table at the lamb inn for a few months we finally got in,and what a great place, food wonderful, atmosphere wonderful, and service faultless, the place was buzzing with life, a traditional welcoming pub, we will without a doubt be going back here for dinner and recommending it highly to friends, the food was outstanding... On a wild and windy afternoon last week our first impression of The Lamb wasn't a good one - no designated parking space to offload luggage and having to park some way down the road (we were subsequently told there was extra parking at the village hall although unclear whether a space would have been available). After attempting to get... More

I've been lucky enough to stay at the Lamb four times, and I love it.Each time I've had a different bedroom, from the smallest to the ones overlooking the village square-They have all been carefully furnished with lovely fabrics and thoughful extras..A tea tray in the bedrooms that some 4 star hotels dont bother to do anymore..and a bedroom note offering toiletries... We visited the Lamb Inn at Sandford on Sunday 27th November 2011 . It was about 1330 and we were encouraged to enter by the sign saying food served all day . Having got to the Bar and paid for a pint and an orange juice we asked for a food menu . To our complete surprise we were told... More

HI Roger I am very sorry that you felt you had a bad time when you visited us. Unfortunately we cannot predict how many people will visit us on any day unless they book and on a Sunday we do only serve a roast so we are more limited than with the regular menu. We do not serve any frozen... More

Visited with very old friends who have recently moved to the area, and who'd "heard this was quite good".An understatement if ever there was one! Thankfully, they booked a table, as we'd never have got in without a reservation. We didn't have a huge meal but what we had was excellent-the highlight for me was the best steak I've had... More

We stopped at the Lamb Inn for one night at the end of October during a very-quick 'let's get out of London for the night' trip. It simply couldn't have been better and far exceeded our expectations. We stopped in the cheapest room (so we had more to spend on food and drink!) and for £65 for B+B it was... More

What a brilliant blend of an old traditional village pub with top quality hotel rooms! Downstairs is the oak beamed pub, clearly the vibrant centre of village life, which contrasts totally with the beautifully modern bedrooms upstairs. All the staff, from Sue who cooks an excellent breakfast to those behind the bar are so helpful and friendly. The real ale,... More

We stayed in just a simple double at the Lamb Inn over the bank holiday weekend and were very happy with our stay! We opted for the cheapest double as it was just a one night stop and would recommend that you go for the larger rooms as when they say small, they mean it! But the room was beutifully... More

This place is a bit of an ecclectic mix. The upstairs accommodation was lovely but the pub downstairs was in serious need of a face lift. It has been described by other reviewers as "shabby chic" and "authentically scruffy" although I think it has gone past this now. The sofa in front of the fire had the stuffing poking out... More

Stayed here for a night on the way to Cornwall. Pub had a great atmosphere, food was outstanding. The room was magnificent, a refurbished Elizabethan building with original beams and trusswork yet a 5 star modern interior. Beautiful time and hope to be back next time heading to the southwest. More
