I had a pleasant enough stay at the Mistral, it’s a upper end priced holiday and I could not find any official star rating for such an established hotel. I am amazed how so many others who have reviewed think this is a world class hotel, It is well presented, but its location is very busy and out front is... More

I haven't travelled very much and haven't stayed in many hotels to offer comparisons. For me though, at the time I went in 2nd half of August 2011, it was a fantastic holiday. It was my first holiday alone and didn't want to feel like Billy-no-mates which is why I chose the Mistral specialising in single/solo travellers. I used this... More

This place is a unique experience for any single traveller, I was a bit unsure when I book for the first time but never regret the choice. I have read the reviews and emailed the hotel to inquire for availability and prices. Donna has been very prompt in answering and assisted me throughout the booking process. Upon arrival in Chania... Been in love with the Mistral for six years now. How not to be? The hotel is relaxed and intimate yet offers loads of personal space if that is what you want. I have made so many lovely friends over the years, many of whom I see beyond the summer break. And Vassilis, Adonis, their staff and lovely Donna are... More

I’ve been a guest in the Mistral during July 2011, being there for the 5th consecutive year and certainly not the last! In fact, the high percentage of repeating customers speaks for itself, the Mistral, as a family run hotel, offers great service for the money – consider 7 nights in a 4 stars hotel, two meals per day (breakfast... This was my first solo holiday and after reading the reviews I thought I would take the plunge. Leading up to my holiday the Mistral hostess Donna was very attentive during the booking process. So after my lengthy journey to Crete, I was told I would be greeted as expected in the arrivals hall, once I had collected my case... More

It is a real pitty that this guest is feeling like this. We are taking comments very seriously and have reviewed all comments made. We have to state here that no such comments were made to us from the guest while their stay so no action could be taken to rectify issues while still on holiday or be able to... More

I must admit that the review criticising the breakfast at the Mistral is a little off the mark. I too have stayed at thousands of hotels throughout the world and you accept the local breakfast offerings as part of the travel experience. My recollection of the Mistral breakfast is that you can have fresh fruit, yoghurt, several types of bread,... More

I have been to the Mistral 5or 6 times and have always enjoyed the experience. Meals are fine by me, certainly varied and copious amounts of wine with it. The Mistral is basically what you make of it. Donna is helpful and always welcoming as is all the staff. For some maybe October is not the wisest month to pick... More

I personally will not be returning as I found my stay rather disappointing. Not once did I look forward to breakfast as there was very little choice. It was almost the same every morning and the bread was always hard. Only once was there bacon and it was very fatty. No sausages, mushrooms, potato scones or similar. I rate this... More

We are realy sorry that thsi guest did not enjoy their holiday with us. Thir comments are taken on borad to improove and comunicate what we do for our guests. We clearly discribe our breakfast in our web site that does not include items such as scones or mushrooms. Our brekfast is lighter and based on local produce with an emphasis... More

As a person who has been on a singles holiday with another company, nothing compares with the comfort and excellent cretan cusine of The Mistral. If you are a vegetarian, of which I am not, but a person in my party was, it will not be what can you find on a buffet style meal, but a personal dish that... More
