On the plus side the public areas of the hotel are in good condition, the staff are very helpful, the food is good, the facilities are good and location is excellent (about 10 mins/5 Euros by taxi into Rethymnon). Worst holiday ever?As if! This place is fantastic.I've been 4 times with my family, and I have to say they were the best holidays of my life. My family agreed and they're a tough crowd to break! I cannot believe the reviews written. Me and my family are going back to crete for the 6th consecutive time. We always chose creta palace, because it simply is a great five star hotel. first time i have written any review..but must defend this hotel from the reviews so far written....this is an excellent hotel....lovely position on the beach; lots of sunbeds, daily towel exchange....very good food...waiter service for the main course(choice of 3, viewed from glass dome as you enter the restaurant)...fresh water pool was entirely empty all the time we were there... more

Having read the latest review it was with some concern that I and my party of 14 (age betwen 2 and 75) left to go on holiday on 24th August. We could not fault this hotel/complex in anyway. Our holiday at this hotel was a real dissapointment. Extremely dirty see (and the beach as well), small and salty pool, dark bungalow with destroyed air-condition, acceptable food only for extra charge, almost full prize for children older than 2, but any special activities for them (boring programme in Grecoland, any evening activities - no minidisco, nothing at all. )... more
