Kefalonia is a wonderful island do hire a car to see more than the sandy beaches of the south. We stayed in beautiful appartments certainly the best we have had in Greece and only classed as "C" acommodation but with iron, hairdryer, T.V.and D.V.D. provided!!!! The only slight drawback was that the appartments are on the road but with the air conditioning on at night this really is not an issue. The appartments are spacious and clean and set in lovely fragrant gardens with a delightful pool. The vews are super and the village of Antipata a delight, do go and buy the local honey from the producer. There are three tavernas in the village avoid the Oasis but do eat at the one closest to Fiskardo (pink and green with a small shop attatched) we had excellent food there truely local food cooked by two ladies from the village .
