OK, so I didn't stay here for long (6 hours due to an unfortunate train strike), but the place seemed okay. The room was dated and not exactly user-friendly, as the shower deliberately didn't have a curtain, so the bathroom was drenched; plus the lack of a holder for the nozzle meant that showering was somewhat of a balancing act.... more

Thessaloniki is a beautiful city with one of the best waterfronts for bars/restaurants in Greece if not all of Europe. If this hotel was right in the thick of it, it would be perfect...but it is not. I called this hotel and made a reservation for a double room 3 days in advance. In a time when all more affordable hotels in Thessaloniki were booked (or at least were pretending they were), Nea Metropolis responded very politely and promptly. The hotel is aneo-classical building from around 1920, so it has high ceilings and all the modern comfort.... more

We loved this hotel! We walked there from the train station with no problem. The location is on a tree-lined street, and the architecture is fabulous.
