Booked this hotel on the strength of reviews here. Not at all what I was expecting. The place is in a state of complete disrepair, not very clean, and doesn't feel safe for lone female traveler. Doors barely lock. Entrance open 24/7 with sometimes no one at front desk. Plaster actually falling off the wall onto your head in bed... more

Hotel Kyma is located near the port and town beach. Although it is near the port it is at least a 25 minutes walk to the ferry berth, that is located on the opposite site of the harbor. Kyma is a small hotel the offers an excellent price/quality ratio. It was a former mansion and is now adapted to an... more

Hotel Kyma is a short walk from where our boat docked in the lovely port area. The staff is kind and very helpful. The hotel shows signs of the renovation from an old mansion to the current hotel. The beds were very comfortable, but it doesn't have all the most modern amenities. For example, the shower doesn't have a curtain.... more

The Hotel Kyma feels more like a large B&B than a hotel. It is about a 20 minute walk from the ferry terminal, but since it follows along the charming waterfront, it was a very pleasant walk. The owner speaks at least three languages (we heard him speak Greek, English and German). The room was sparse but functional, had simple... more

It took a while to find the hotel and having arrived by boat it was a 10-15 min walk along the harbour side but this was far from unpleasant. We had a room looking out to sea with a large balcony and wonderfully high ceilings. The room itself was more spacious than many others I have stayed in although the... more

The building has charm, no doubt. Its location is good (although a rather long walk from the port), an ample front balcony with a good view, a majestic staircase, a long and notable history. The owner is a true professional taking personal care of his guests. And while far from ideal, the breakfast easily exceeds what you would normally get... more

Hotels in the city centre of Chios are really horrible but somehow Kyma makes a difference! It definately worths to stay there (if you have no other option than stay in the centre of chios and not somewhere in the countryside of the island) The managing director, mister Spordilis has to take all the credits for this hotel!!! He is... more

We stayed here last year and hated the experience. We had one of the rooms at the front with the large balcony. The room was very small and grubby, hardly any room to walk around the beds. We couldn't put clothes in the wardrobe it was so dusty, the drawers had graffitti written inside them dated 1977. They were also... more

We stayed at the Kyma Hotel for our third time, in September. It's only changed for the better since our first stay, in 1995. Theodore Spordilis, the Managing Director bends over backwards for his patrons. The clean, well kept rooms include a very generous breakfast, coffee at any time, and free laundry! Theodore provided us with the front balcony rooms... more

Hotel Kyma was excellent. Having previously stayed in three other hotels on Chios, I can say unreservedly that this is my favourite. The entrance hall and breakfast room are full of character, and the breakfast itself is very good, and served at flexible times. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, and some open onto a huge sea-facing balcony. Mr... more
