My girlfriend and I unfortunately booked for 4 nights in this hotel via a travel agent. When we booked we thought it didn't cost much for a 4 star hotel. When we arrived we knew why... We arrived late after a tiresome journey from across the Peloponnesos but unstead of being greeted in a friendly fashion the receptionist looked astonished and asked whether we had reserved. Then she, I suppose, randomly picked a key. We were one of the few guests: it isn't difficult to imagine why.
When we went to our room dogs running freely on the hotels premises accompanied us to our room. The room smelled bad. The TV didn't work. There was no soap available. The room itself was quite large but not cosy. After flushing, the toilet kept on running which kept us awake during the night. Reporting this to the receptionist was to no avail. Apparently it was normal and when we insisted she called in the local 'Manuel'. He just lifted the lid of the toilet and tried to arrange it but it didn't work... more
