My fiance and I stayed at the Phaedra Hotel last month (March 2008) and cannot say enough good things about the property, owner Hilda and the island of Hydra. We stayed in the "Phaedra" suite (each room has a name) and loved it. The room was charming, clean and comfortable with sunlight coming in from huge, bright windows. This property... more

I would heartily reccomend this guesthouse. On the icandescently beautiful island of Hydra, we were met at the ferry and donkeys carried our cases up the cobbled streets to the hotel. Large, new, spacious, comfortable and clean, the rooms are great. Nice small touches like free dvd´s by the TV. Hilda is a most gracious and personable host and serves... more

It's taken us a long time to get round to writing this review but we felt we should share what a wonderful experience we had. What a beautiful and relaxing place to stay, both the island and the hotel. We received a warm welcome from Hilda (the owner) who showed us to the Phaedra room, which was large and had... more

My partner and I stayed in the Phaedra room, 2nd floor with a small balcony overlooking a tree lined lane. Our room was super comfortable, with a simple, straightforward elegance which would have been enough to make us happy. But the real star at Phaedra is the owner, Hilda who made us feel like old friends come to visit. When... more

We've just returned from our 4 days year-end vacation in Hydra, Greece. Well, 4 days was the plan but we 'had' to stay 2 nights in Pireaus/Athens before the meteo conditions improve enough to allow the (fun)tastic 'flying dolphin 4' set sails to Hydra. We've booked on the Phaedra Hotel because we were looking for something high-end and we've found... more

The Phaedra Hotel is really fabulous and we had the warmest of welcomes from Hilda. Breakfast on the terrace was always lovely, with different home-made products each day. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. more

Perfect! Friendly, beautiful, very comfortable, accommodating and In my opinion the best experience for the money. The Hotel is even more beautiful then the web site pictures and Hilda the owner was helpful and gracious. If you are going to Hydra (which we LOVED) stay here! more

Phaedra is absolutely fantastic. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the service is better than great. Hilda treats guests like friends. I loved sitting on the terrace drinking tea. I came to the island for a meeting, and others at the same meeting paid a great deal more for rooms not nearly as nice. In years of traveling for... more

I stayed at Phaedra Hotel for 1 week in May 2007, and had the opportunity to stay in 3 different rooms, so I feel like a bit of an expert. All were excellent, but my favorites were Phaedra (upstairs with windows on 3 sides so it feels like a tree house); and Olympia (a 2-story room with bedroom loft upstairs,... more

After contacting the owner directly by phone we received a confirmation by email with pictures of the room which we appreciated very much. The room was very spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and modern - everything you would hope for in a hotel room but rarely get. Hilda, the owner, gave us great tips on where to eat and go for... more
