I recently spent a couple of nights at The Star hotel. The location - for me was perfect. The hotel overlooks the main harbour ,a stones throw from where you catch the ferries hydrofoils and water taxis.The small harbour is lined with cafes and very lively.
Many of the rooms look directly out over the harbour,and have wonderful views, although I presume they could be rather noisy. I was given a room at the side, but as I prefer less noise, it didn't bother me.
The room itself however was rather a shock. I have recently travelled to many parts of Greece. and with one exception, I have found most of the hotels recently modernised.This hotel however, had not been touched since the 1950's by the look of it. Now I don't mind old. but this was downright tatty looking, with veneer missing from parts of the furniture.
The room was clean, and had a fridge, but the price of 75 euros asked was ridiculous for what was offered.Breakfast was not included in the price, although you...
