We stayed at the Skiathos (prison ) Hotel for 10 days from 22nd sept 09. This place is disgusting , on arrival dirty and torn seating in reception area , Corridors dark and dingy with heavily stained carpets , told this was due to condensation as it was built of concrete. We stayed at the Palace for 2 weeks. We paid extra for a double modern room with sea view, when we checked in we were given the wrong room. This took a couple of days to sort out and get moved to the correct room. Bad start already! We were staying on a b&b basis, which I am so glad... more

We stayed for a week with friends and family as we were getting married on the island. Our rooms were lovely and clean with amazing views. The staff on reception were always helpful and the staff around the complex were pleasant and cheerful. It is the oldest hotel on the island and has no lift so not recommended for people... more

After chatting to the very helpful reception desk I discovered that this hotel was built in 1972 and has 4 different standards of room.
