My family and I have just returned from a driving holiday in Denmark & Sweden. On 15Jun, at around 8:30pm, I telephoned Odense Congress Centre to enquire if they have accommodation for my family of 5. The lady who answered (Ms Mette) confirmed she has 1 double & 1 triple room, and quoted a price, which I accepted. I confirmed we'll be arriving in about 1 hour.
We arrived at the Center around 9:15pm. At checkin, I was told by Ms Mette that the 2 rooms were still available but the price has increased by 400Kr. She refused to honour the price she quoted to me just 1 hour ago. I told her that this is very unethical, as I had driven specially to her hotel based on her word. Ms Mette refused to change her mind. When I demanded to see the manager, she said he was not on the premises. Without a word of apology, she just handed me his name card, and told me that I can complain to him.
Of course, I refused to pay the extra price. She offered no assistance...
