We had a pleasent 3 days stay at the Faaborg Fjord Hotel late this summer. This is not a new hotel. When it was built is hard to say. But, if you take away the wide screens, PC's and electronics, this was like taking a journey back to the 60's. A bit worn most of it, including the small indoors swimming pool. And no refrigerators in the rooms. But nice and clean, helpful and friendly hotel staff.
The Hotel is located right next to the beach with a very nice view over the "fjord" with its small islands. So sitting in the hotels good restaurant outdoors was enjoyable and a good start of the day. The walking distance to the town of Faaborg is about 30 - 40 minutes. A typical danish small town, cozy and relaxed. The harbour area has been renovated, so you can sit in a modern restaurant outdoors in the evening waching the sun go down. Or you can return to the hotel and sit on the balcony outside the room, waching TV, your neighbours face, or whatever. more
