We stayed at DGI Byen for 4 nights, and we were very happy with our choice. The hotel was very clean, the room was spotless, and the breakfast was excellent (bread, pastries, fruits, juices etc.). The best thing about the hotel was the pool area; it was free for hotel guests. It was very nice to relax in the pools... more

We also stayed at DGI-Byen over the New Year period. My main reason for booking this hotel was for the swimming and spa facilities which unfortunately were closed on the 31/12 and 1/1. If I had known this when booking I would have booked elsewhere. Good points Close to train station and Tivoli Breakfast was fine Helpful staff Clean rooms... more

My partner and I spent 5 nights at the DGI Byen for New Year's. The hotel is very much centrally located next to the train station. The area used to be rough, but there are some nice pubs around. DGI Byen is part of a big meeting-sports-hotel centre. Roms are very spacious. Bathroom are nice sized. However we had a... more

Had booked this hotel then found the online reviews in trip advisor so I was very very afraid. However it was okay, the location whilst not pretty was very convenient walking distance from Central Station (though trains were noisy through the night) and an easy walk up to Vesterbro for reasonably priced (by Danish standard) meals, and close to Tivoli... more

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of August. The location is excellent for seeing the sites of Copenhagen. With the train station, Tivoli, town centre, etc all near by it's perfect. The hotel itself is average for a 3-star. The rooms are large compared to most, but as per other reviews, rather barren and dorm like. Breakfast... more

I must warn you that the hotel room was filthy, filthy, filthy!!!! The bathroom smelled like urine, probably from the floor....I don't think they mop in there in there ever! The beds were so disgusting that I had to lay on the comforter blanket as extra protection from catching something from the matress. The pillows were so dirty from years... more

We stayed at the DGI Byen for two nights in July. Our comments: The hotel is located about 3 minutes walk from the main train station of copenhagen, bordering Vesterbro, an area which most guides describe as dodgy. We walked around the area one night until late and there was definitely nothing dodgy about it, in fact we felt more... more

We stayed in the DGI Byen hotel for 5 nights in June 2006. We had a mixed evaluation for this property. The Positives 1) Good location with the train station and Tivoli park a couple of blocks away. 2) Great continental breakfast 3) Clean rooms 4) Excellent pool complex. We traveled with a 8 and 10 year old that really... more

We booked in February to stay at the DGI Byens in May and subsequently read the poor reviews below. The hotel reception staff re-assured us by email that these reviews were not indicative of their hygiene standards. The hotel location is excellent - a short walk to the railway station - not worth a taxi if you can carry your... more

We also stayed here over the Easter weekend 2006 and I was disgusted. Never in my life have I lain awake in a hotel room worried about catching something from the sheets. The matress cover on our bed was absolutely filthy, and a cursory glance under the pillowcase showed absolutely filthy old pillows. The spare pillow in the wardrobe was... more
