This hotel is quite solid and the rooms are just fine : ) But found it too far away from the town. Spent far too much time walking! Would probably stay closer to town next time. Breakfast yogurts are yummy. more

We stayed for three nights and found the room to be spacious and totally European with the decorations. We enjoyed the breakfast (great value) but the staff really goes the extra mile to make the stay special. We had our complimentary glass of wine with Gunn, who provided recommendations for "must see" stops in the city. Please make time to... more

I was very pleased to find the Carlton Hotel Guldsmeden met all my expectations. My room was comfy and spacious, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast fabulous, and the hotel's location just perfect for this traveller. I easily walked to the wonderful museums and art galleries I had come to see, and there was the added bonus of discovering... more

This is a very friendly hotel for a reasonable price (they give discount if you pre-pay from their web-site) and in a good location if you don't mind a bit of walking into the older part of town. It's close to the train station (can walk if not too much luggage or take a taxi) and also very accessible to... more

We just stayed here for about a week - very comfortable bed, nice balcony for fresh air. Good breakfast, with wonderful yogurt if you are a yogurt fan. The people who work there are uniformly pleasant and helpful. The location is out of the city center, but we found it an easy walk, and very quiet. My one complaint applies... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night on the weekend, it was really nice, the room was clean and comfortable it was about a 20 min walk from the main street and 5-7 min walk from the train station. Was in a central location with a supermarket up the road and many cafes/restaurants. We felt very... more

Great Hotel. The rooms are clean and cosy and the hotel is spotless. We stayed in the front part of the hotel, it was a little noisy because of the busy road outside but it was our request to be in a front room so no agruements there. The hotel makes a good effort to be organic. Natural products in... more

I would call it a nice, botique hotel. Loved the interior. Extremely friendly and helpful stuff. It made us feel like home. Tidy. Nice surprise of welcoming glass of wine. (and a good price of a wine bottle in the room) Completely organic and tasty breakfast. Not in the very city centre (10-20min to the old town), but nice restaurants... more

A quirky but pleasant, clean and generally comfortable hotel. Somewhat typical of small (good) European hotels. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast of muesli, many cheeses, pastries, homemade yoghurts, jams, cold meats several teas and a fantastic variety of breads, meant this was not in the US style of breakfast.but delicious, generous and great value.. We had the room... more
