We stayed one night at Pension Bondehust. The location of this inn is very beautiful, right on the shores of Esrum So. There are benches that face the lake which are wonderful to use. The inn consists of two thatched-roof buildings, the main house and the auxillary building. We were in the latter. The room was large, clean and comfortable, with a slightly older, basic decor. The main building where breakfast is served is beautifully decorated. Guests can use the library, and livingroom. The breakfast room is lovely, with china figurines on the windowsills and crystal light fixtures. Breakfast was very good -- good coffee, juice, rolls, cheese, granola, yogurt and boiled eggs. I would recommend this inn, but it's about a mile from the center/castle area, so it's best to have a car. There is a very cute ice cream shop on the shores of the lake right before you reach the inn.
