The first rude encounter was when we pulled up, and went in to ask the receptionist about parking. I was asked if I had a reservation, and I gave the name, and was told, no you haven't. I got a bit of a shock, and said that I had confirmation of the room being booked, and then she looked at me with look that implied I was the stupidist person ever, and said you have a room, but no parking booked. There was no notice on the hotels site, or the booking site about having to pre-book parking. There were no spaces for that night, and when I asked her was there anywhere secure to park, she said I'm sure you will find somewhere. Luckily we did. But she did not feel it necessary to inform us that there was a big classic car rally on that night, and that it would not have been advisable to park in the public carpark down the way.
