Closed for renovation in 2018 There are 41 rooms all in all at Halltorps Gästgiveri. 25 of those are guest rooms named after and designed to assemble different Swedish provinces. In addition there are beautiful guest rooms in the old mansion, modernized but still in the turn-of-the-century style. Six of the rooms, among those the two bridal suites, are maisonettes with a sitting-room on the ground floor and a spacious bedroom upstairs. All our rooms have a shower, WC, telephone, radio & satellite TV, wireless internet and each is unique. All rooms are non smoking.Dining rooms seating up to 110 persons Large bar- & lounge area Wine cellar Sun terrace with a magnificent view over Kalmarsund Recreational facility with two saunas and a cool well Three conference rooms Five open fireplaces Excellent parking spaces Open year round.Very welcome to the good experience in the heart of different Oland.

We waited long time to check in, as the receptionist was dealing with issues with other guests. Hallway and the hotel room, some part of the restaurant were dusty because it has been under renovation. Personal were nice but seemed stressed and not chaotic. It made us sad to see the restaurant selling ice cream for kids which look like “ Mexcan man” and “ Chinese man” In their own ice cream shop. I have never seen or felt anything like this disrespect in Sweden. Overall unsatisfied and they do not react to the feedback.

We stayed there in summer 2017 on a ”romantic weekend package”. The hotel is well located and even though it is on the man road from Kalmar to Borgholm, it was relatively quiet and ok with a great view over the sea towards the mainland, however the staff seemed to have been employed for the summer and were not very established in their routines or standards of service. We enjoyed a pleasant evening meal on the terrace over-looking he water, but in my opinion, the food was very mediocre.

Halltorp is situated a short drive from Bornholm and is a renovated inn. Renovations have stripped some of the old charm, but rooms are large, beds are reclinable and the ac works! Artwork by Ulrika HydmanVallien are prominent , across the road is Vida arthall, where several swedish artist are on display, and there is a small relax with sauna and outdoor jaccuzzi. Breakfast is rather ordinary

Halltorps Gästgiveri combines the grace of old world hospitality with charm and freshness in the hotel. The food and wine is always a wonderful dining experience and the owners and staff are engaged and go that extra mile to make sure your stay at Halltorps is memorable and great, so that you will visit again and again - as I have done in several years. I must have spent at least 50 or 60 nights at Halltorps Gästgiveri by now, and even bring friends and family to visit.

Fifteen years ago we had one of our best ever dinners in this restaurant. Last week we had one of our most disappointing. The summer menu was very limited. The food was just mediocre. The desserts were tiny, overpriced and pedestrian. The worst was that when a fly landed in one of our wine glasses, the waitress didn't remove the glass - not the first time she noticed it and not the second when she cleared the dishes from the table. When we asked her to take the glass she seemed offended we made the request and then totally ignored our table while providing service to all the surrounding tables. This is a very expensive restaurant in a hotel with a reputation for fine food and excellent service. It seems that the reputation is built on the past rather than the present.

I have been friendly welcome by the owner after a road trip to this beautifull isle of Olland. The restaurant offer a short but very good menu, with both meat and fish, in a pleasant sitting. As well, the room is very spacious and elegantly decorated. You have just to borrow a bike to visit the castle of Borgholm and appreciate after return the spa ! A good place to be in Olland -)

Went for dinner with my family. We all chose Steak Tartar from the bistro menu. It tasted very good!! Disappointing that they do not bake their own bread. The hard bread is made by Solmarka, which is good but I can buy it at the local supermarket. The buns were not even tasty. The service was nice enough but after serving us our food we were of no further interest but left sitting with empty plates for at least half an hour. Will maybe go back since the food was good but hope for more next time when it comes to service.

This was supposed to be a gourmet destination, which I had looked forward to visit for many years, but we were unfortunately rather disappointed. A nice and spacious room with comfortable beds, although pricey. Nice location next to the Vida Museum, golf course and walking trails. The Summer menu offered a limited selection and the restaurant seemed short staffed on Sunday. Food was hit and miss and not at all what we expected. Breakfast spread was uninspiring. The hotel did eventually take a main course off the bill, but it cannot make up for our disappointment. Will not return.

Old fashion classic style with open fireplaces combined with modern and comfortable solutions. The restaurant is subleme and you feel extra spoiled of the Halltorp servants. It should be hard to get better than this exquisite pearl on Öland! The prices are a little problem though, as this is an expensive pearl. Still, it is the fantastic food, the rooms and surroundings you will remember! Do not forget to visit VIDA, a contemporary and fantastic museum of art, just nearby Halltorp.

This hotel was not what I expected. The room and the hotel did not look like the pictures. It was more like a farm house off a main road. It was clean and quiet and the dinner and service was excellent and all the rave reviews on the food were accurate. We bought cookies and coffee for a take away but only received tiny cups of coffee not worth the service charge.
