I can't take too much credit for discovering this hotel as my mother-in-law was the one who found it and made our booking. That said, it was a gem of a place. It's just off the town square, across from a picturesque church. The building is obviously old (as the name indicates) but the interior has recently been remodeled/modernised and is beautiful.
The rooms (and bathrooms) were simple, clean, and comfortable. Our room wasn't huge, but spacious enough. Breakfast was included in our bargain price (booking in advance = best rate!) and oh my, I could've stayed there all day! So much fresh bread, fruit, cheeses, meats, coffee, etc. It was divine. Staff were friendly and helpful too.
There was also free internet and use of a computer, which is rare these days.
