As perfect as a hotel should be BUT the food at the restaurant superseded by far the normal standard at a "steak-place". The best piece of meat we have had for quite som time. The only negative thing about the restaurant was the service, the young girls employed could use some training in correct serving , and with a little... more

On a trip with my wife across Sweden/Denmark. We ended up rebooking our trip so we could come back to this hotel for another night because it was so great! Breakfasts were the best we had in Europe, the price was far cheaper than any other we stayed at, and, if you're planning on going to Copenhagen, it's much cheaper... more

We stayed for a week, during the Malmo Music Festival, and were very impressed. This is a really charming hotel. The building is several hundred years old, and it still retains many original features. The breakfast room in particular in the basement is wonderful. High ceilings everywhere, including the bedrooms. We had a large room to cater for the four... more

My wife booked this place for 2 nights and here is the basics: 1. 2 minute walk from the train station, on a very old and quiet street. 2. Checkin was pleasant, very friendly Swedish receptionist who spoke perfect English 3. Hotel is a bit of a maze, but come on, is is several hundred years old and has been... more

Spent 3 days recently at the Mayfair Hotel Malmo. The hotel was lovely, very clean, beautifully decorated, wonderful history and lovely rooms. Our room even had a balcony which was a big plus. However there was no luggage service on Sunday, somewhat of a minus since our room was quite had to get to and from. That said, it was... more

My wife and I and three couples from Australia stayed for three nights at the Mayfair Hotel before attending a family wedding in Malmo. The location, rooms, breakfast and ambience were first class. Many of the other reviews attest to those Mayfair characteristics. The hotel has real elegance and charm and the culture of service by the staff is quite... more

Mayfair is just a block from the railwaystation. It is located on a quiet street (alley). The hotel is one of the oldest hotels and the building has fascinating history. The staff is polite and rather invisible. The room was really spacious and so was the bathroom. The hotel is quite a labyrinth. I have stayed there for 2 times.... more

Traveling to Malmo with my spouse on business we decided to look for someplace besides the Hilton. We were looking for something historical with more of a Swedish feel. We were not disappointed. The room was one with the old beams. We overlooked a courtyard. The room was small by American standards but not cramped. Room had great armoire for... more

We came to Malmö one rainy day in August in search of a hotel just near town-centre and not belonging to a chain. Our guidebook led us the way down to the city, where we - not of big hopes to get a room - contacted the concierge and owner of the Mayfair Hotel. He, a very nice and befriending... more

Our family (we have 3 children) stayed at the Mayfair for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is superb just meters from the train station and city centre. The family room was spacious and well-appointed. The staff was courteous and very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic with a varied menu to suit everyone's taste. Finally, the hotel... more
