We spent 3 very comfortable nights here staying in a quiet room with a private bathroom in the main house. The 200 year old house has lots of character and the rooms are beautifully decorated with flowers, candles and artwork. There are 2 rooms in the main house and also 2 studio rooms outside in the pretty little courtyard. Helene is a friendly and welcoming host. She prepares a simply but delicious breakfast of fresh bread, jam, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, eggs, cold meat, pickled herring and cheeses. There is a small kitchen which guests can access all day with tea and coffee and snacks provided. There is also a microwave which was useful to heat a meal bought at the local co-op when we didn't feel like going out for dinner. The lovely sitting room is also available all day although the other guest room in the main house opens onto the sitting room so best not used if this room is occupied. The B&B is in a great location within a very short walking distance of everything. Kalmar is not a big town and the main sights are the castle and the excellent Kronen ship wreck exhibition at the nearby museum (both of which can be done in a day). Be wary of the art gallery near the castle - we paid 50 SEK to see only one room of not very interesting photos/contemporary art. Make sure you check carefully what is on before parting with your money! We would have liked to visit Oland but the ferries had stopped by the time we visited (early October) and we weren't so keen on catching a bus. Three nights was probably too long in Kalmar but we were very comfortable at Kattrumpans. Helene was also very kind in letting us taking some food from breakfast for our train journey when we left. Highly recommend staying here.

The host is wonderfully talented in creating charming and lovely spaces. The breakfast room, the little house in the garden that serves as one of the rooms, the garden with emerging flowers, and even the kitchen where breakfast was laid out were all welcoming and comfortable. She and her husband were friendly. Breakfast was wonderful. The home is over 200 years old with lots of character. The location is great. I loved it.

A very nice BandB. Very friendly and helpful owner, pleasant room, great breakfast (and invited to fill a bag for lunch), and attractive garden. A good base for a short stay (we stayed 3 nights). It's in a good central location too by the Barbour.

Homely stay with friendly hosts and a very hearty Swedish breakfast smorgasbord. Our rooms were comfortable and bed perhaps a little too soft compared to what we are used too. We had to walk through the dining area to access the bathroom, which was timed to avoid when other guests were having breakfast, but otherwise not overly inconvenient. A bit like staying with relatives. Great position to walk to the Castle, museum, shopping area and train station. Cobbled streets and pavements tiring for knees and ankles!

We absolutely loved Kattrumpans B&B. The room and the decorations are so cute and lovely. We really enjoyed the breakfast!Another thing we really love is it's location. It's only a 5 minute walk to the town centre, where you find lots of bars, restaurants, cafes and great shopping options. Although it is in the town, you can't hear any noises, it's very peaceful. The next time we visit Kalmar we will definitely stay at this B&B!

Location: very accessible, 7 minutes walk from Kalmar railway and bus station. 3 minutes walk to big shopping mall and supermarket. Guest Room: kept clean and stylish interior decoration. Dining Room & Kitchen for common use: There were pretty and various tablewares and cookwares kept clean. Bleakfast was delicious. Staffs: very smily and friendly. One thing bad was that I couldn't have doors unlocked smoothly.

We visited this small B&B for one night with our family (two adults and an infant) and were very pleasantly suprised. The whole place is very cozy, the building charming, the location perfect, the owners super friendly and welcoming, the beds perfectly soft and the breakfast delicious. We definitely want to go back!

We were basically stopping for one night to see the castle, but as soon as we saw the warmth and character of this B&B, we stayed an extra day. The location was great, the town was beautiful, and the hosts very helpful. In addition to the castle, Oland Island is right across the bridge and proved to be a perfect day trip -- windmills, woolly sheep, lighthouses, and Bronze and Iron Age burial sites...well worth the trip!

I highly recommend this delightful B&B in Kalmar, a charming city by the sea. Its location is close to all necessary facilities and tourist sights. I stayed in one of the units in the beautiful back garden and loved every aspect of it. Quiet, private, comfortable, so clean, charming in every way. I loved waking up each morning to the sound of tinkling water in the fountain outside my window. Breakfast was offered in the main house, great coffee and a wide variety of fare to please individual tastes. The hosts were welcoming and informative and respected the privacy of their guests. Helene's decorating skills are superb, with photo-worthy spots found all over the interior of the house and outside as well! It was so relaxing to sit in the back garden in the sun with a cup of tea, after a day of walking and sightseeing, amongst her colourful pots of flowers and greenery. Communication regarding enquiries, booking and payment were all effortless, speedy and efficient. Do yourself a big favour and stay here!

This is a lovely B&B. It's in a good location for seeing the sites in Kalmar. Our room was very nice although the bathroom was very basic. The breakfast was certainly adequate but not exceptional. The patio area looked lovely but poor weather prevented us from being able to use it.
