This has probably once been a luxury hotel but not anymore. Sure, it has four stars but they don't live up to them. They meet all criterias for a four star hotel (private bath, minibar, on-site restaurant etc etc). But what has happened with the staff? We stayed at the Elite Vaxjo for two nights with the intent of using it as our base while driving through the Glass District in southern Sweden. It turned out to be the perfect location for this. The hotel is located on the main town square which is a big parking lot each day with the exception of the weekends... more

We stayed here June 2004. We had reservations at another hotel recommended by Frommers but after looking at the room and hotel we were disgusted and left. We then found rooms at the Elite for about the same price. The Elite has large, clean rooms and it is in the center of town. There is internet access in the lobby... more
