Stayed for a business trip in October 2009 as part of a senior level foreign afffairs delegation. Excellent service and surroundings. Not cheap so perhaps not ideal for a holiday. Superb food and courteous staff, something lacking in many hotels nowadays. more

Have stayed at many 5 star hotels over the years and feel this was the biggest disappointment EVER!! The location and breakfast was superb but the rooms were definitely not. The receptionist welcomed us by name. The waitress brought the baby seat before we thought about asking. We booked a premium double room in the 5th floor with a nice view - even from the bath tub. A fitting name for a hotel where I stayed in the modern extension which was decorated equally grandly. Room size was great and luxury bathroom was excellent...no tea or coffee making facilities but I guess a hotel like this would expect you to use room service.
