This is the second time I try this hotel and it will not be a third. When I arrived late in the evening I got a room: very small, the toilet had large brown stains, no towels etc. I call the reception and they come up. They agree that the room is not fresh but no excuse what so ever.... more

I have stayed 4 nights at this hotel and believe me when I say that this was my best blind-choice ever! The location is perfect, just a few minutes from the subway station. The neighbourhood is very live but not disturbing, many options of restaurants, pubs, cafes, fast food buffets etc. The old town (Gamla Stan) is about 15 min... more

Have just returned from three nights at the Scandic Malmen with my husband and three children. We have stayed in numerous hotels in Stockholm but I wouldn't stay at this one again. The area is a great place to stay with good facilities and public transport etc. It is noisy at night if you want to sleep with the window... more

I stayed with my family at Scandic Malmen on 19-21 June 2008. The location is very good. It is located in the Södermalmen district, which is more interesting than the central area packed with the usuall tourist stuff. Lots of ethnic restaurants, bars and various little shops near the hotel, and nice places for a walk in a real Stockholm... more

30 Mar 2008 | Trip type: Friends getaway

The room was clean and friendly with very limited space for storage. We didn't mind the room size and small bath, for we looked for a bed to sleep in and not a room to stay in. The staff was friendly, but inefficient: When we first came to the room we had only five hangers, I went down to the... more

When you go to a hotel chain you already know, usually you are ready to expect the same standards of quality, and this wasn't an exception. Scandic hotels use to be fairly big, with scandinavian modern and simple desgin and very generous breakfast. This one also was pretty good priced. We got a double room for 700 SEK, which is... more

Nice hotel, special we got good price, compared with others in Stockholm. Also, we had a early check in ( 12 noon ) as requested. Staff in the reception very polite and friendly. Good location, clean rooms and confy beds. The triple room had the 3rd bed, folding off the wall ! Not as expected but ok. The breakfast was... more

Ok, the hotel is nicely located in Stockholm, walking distance from most places, but once inside you feel like you've been caught by the gestapo. Corridors are ugly, with plain doors in light wood, and awful posters on the walls. Once inside, the room is smaller than you'd give for you guinea pig, and almost have to sit on the... more

The hotel is in a very busy area, sleeping with window open is impossible. Parking your car is not possible, not even to just unload suitcases (taxi's are blocking the entrance). Desk staff is unfriendly. Breakfast is very hectic, much too many people, you have to eat with a plate on your lap, or standing if you are not lucky.... more

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in August 2007. The location is excellent, with a metro station (Medborgarplatsen) directly below the hotel and with the Old Town on walking distance. There are a vast number of restaurants, bars and shops in the area around the hotel, so you will not have to walk far to find everything you... more
