Well located and quiet hotel a few minutes walking distance from main Sodermalm attractions and nightlife. Located in front of a calm park. Attentive front staff. Paid about EUR100 for a relatively small single room, clean and well kept with a tiny but functional shower-only bathroom. It is true that the shower curtain doesn't hold the water that well but... more

We recently stayed here for two nights and found the hotel quite comfortable. As first-time visitors who had a limited amount of time in Stockholm, we were very pleased with the helpfulness of the staff. Breakfasts were great, and they have a coffee-and-cookie break in the late afternoon. The location is great if you're spending time in Sodermalm, although a... more

Stayed one night at the Columbus Hotell in Stockholm before a business meeting. My colleague booked a room on the internet and did not realize that it was a "standard room" WITHOUT an ensuite bathroom. Also, it is a "walk up" hotel with 4 floors. So expect to carry your bags up the stairs Needless to say, I was surpised... more

We decided to go to Stockholm at the last minute, so we didn't have a lot of options. We were lucky to find a room here, although it was a double w/o bathroom. The location is great and the staff are helpful and friendly. Those are the good points. The low points--we paid about US $138 for this room (photo)... more

Sometimes you happen upon a hotel that makes you feel good in every way and that was the Columbus for me. An old converted brewery building, in a peaceful and gorgeous park-like setting - it is simple and lovely, just like Stockholm! The location is really special. It is in an area like Soho, with fun shops and good cafes,... more

This was a nice place to stay with our 5-year-old child. We stayed in the annex, and the room was fairly large and fit the 3 of us quite comfortably. Our child slept on the pull-out couch. The price was decent for Stockholm, though some of that is because the toilets/showers for the triple rooms are not in the rooms... more

I stayed at the Columbus with my Mom in June 2008 and was pleasantly surprised. It is in Sodermalm on the edge of "SOFO" where there are many funky shops and restaurants. The area is mostly residential, with a sprinkling of cool and hip things to do. It is a short metro ride to Gamla Stan, or you can walk... more

Went to see a concert in Södermalm, so for us the location was great. Friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was really simple, but ok. Sound insulation isn't too great, so you will hear steps from the wooden-floor corridors. But this is not a nightlife party hotel so you'll get to enjoy your peace and quiet. The price was a bit... more

I'd just like to add to fellow trip advisor's comments that this hotel is a great find. I stayed there in June 2007 with my elderly parents and returned in MArch 2008 with teenage children. It's convenient, clean, quiet with friendly, helpful staff, and a great breakfast. As others have mentioned, the building is full of character (don't be put... more
