I was very impressed by the grand, it has a nice location overlooking numerous islands and a marina, and impresses upon entry with old european charm. The service on the desk was brilliant and the hotel was clean and modern but maintained an 18th century feel. Upon entering the room I was impressed by the spacious size and a large... more

Stayed here in January 2009 - we are strapped for cash so flew to Stockholm with Ryanair, and didn't have the funds for expensive accommodation, so scored a really good deal at the Grand Hotel in Saltsjobaden. We paid GBP 60 per night and were upgraded to a junior suite. The hotel is about 25 minutes by train (the station... more

Expected more but rooms were small but acceptable. No heat or air in rooms. Tried to get a massage but no one was around. Good breakfast every morning. more

When my wife and I got here, we were a bit put off because we had to wait at check-in for someone to appear to help us, and it felt like a little odd place at first, but before long we were loving it! Very friendly service, and a very cosy place. The room was nice, with excellent views, and... more

Stayed for an extended weekend in Saltsjobaden in July. The hotel from 1893 is an old lady with cham but some flaws like, lack of paint, poor flushing in the toilet and under staffed at times at the reception. But still I will give it top grades. And here is why. Bear in mind it is an old hotel and... more

This was an amazing hotel to stay in! From the train literlally across the road and great links into central Stockholm, the fantastic views across the lakes, great selection and fresh breakfasts, accommodating staff, comfortable rooms with everything that you'd need - this was one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The area is stunning, the small outdoor resturant... more

The building is beautiful in every sense of the word and the reception is good. I was staying in a single room. The room was ok with a very comfortable bed but the bathroom was horrible, very worn and small with only a shower, no bath tub. The restaurant was the weak point with extremely slow service. Some of the... more

As it is the rest of the hotel. The location is great. just 15 minutes driving for stockholm by the sea with great view. The breakfast... more

We stayed at the grand hotel saltsjobaden for a long weekend over the May day holiday,we didn't want to stay in Stockholm city as we wanted to get a feel for the country aswell as the city itself. The hotel is situated 25 minutes away from Stockholm Slussen railway station ( trains run 3or 4 times per hour) on a... more

Warrants the 'grand' appellation, handy to Stockholm but one of those places that is a bit of a tourist destination in its own right. There ware some minor issues with the staff, but nothing major. I would suggest you expect some hiccups, but go anyway for the experience. 30 mins train ride from Stockholm makes it sound marginally more convenient... more
