This is not luxury accommodation but it was just the ticket. Having driven on snow mobiles for about 170 km to get here, we were met with a fabulously warm welcome and tasty home cooking - served up by two Sami sisters who had the most fantastic singing voices.
Accommodation is in small, 3 room chalets with a shared toilet/shower and paper-thin walls. However it was warm and pretty comfortable.
The sauna, in a separate building, was turned on for us after we had arrived and very welcome it was too.
Dinner was broccoli soup followed by reindeer and mash and then some sort of local berries for pudding. All served in a friendly and good-hearted manner.
This is the sort of place you stay at if you come up to northern Finland for fishing or cross-country skiing etc.. This is not a luxurious 'retreat' but it is a very good place to stay if you are up here on an activity break.
