Great location but a little expensive hotel. The hotel is right next to the city center, which in Oulu is a few blocks wide. There is nothing much to do. But, if you are walking back after a late night, this is a good hotel to be in. The rooms are clean. The lobby wasn't that great. more

From the lobby elevator, you can tell SAS Oulu is a hotel showing its age. Room is OK and location is good. Within walkin distance from downtown. more

Stayed at this property again just before the Scandic Oulu opened 1st of March. You could see the new Scandic from our hotel room. hotel lobby reeked of suspiciously dirty/old carpet. then again this is a pet hate of mine so i'm especially aware of these things. room was your typical parquet, modern decor a là radisson but i prefer this to dated 'personalised' hotel furnishings. breakfast wasn't bad, younger crowd than the royal radisson in helsinki but perhaps it was just the time... more

On arrival, found sticky dirt on the floor just in front of the minibar. OK, they wiped it away after I called the reception. Next day, obviously no service person came into the room during the whole day, neither to take away the garbage, nor to bring new towels, nor to arrange the bed. Stayed for 4 nights at the end of June, 2005. Overall, experience was average and I wouldn't return except it's on my company's preferred list. Still under going construction with very little separation to operating section. The room was "business class" but since I was on corporate rate they removed wi-fi access and robes ... pretty petty. For a hotel costing > £100 per night, i was disappointed by this hotel. No coffeee/tea making facilities, a £5 per hour charge for wireless internet (even if you're only on for 5 mins!), very average breakfast and too much noise in the mornings! Its is a good location though, by the waterfront (with lots of nice bars and restaurants)... more
