Property's Favourite Review
Didn't stay at Nalikari but looks to be ok, situated right by the beach.
As for Oulu a great place to visit, everything in Finland more expensive than the UK but still worth a visit. Also, only approx 3 hours from santa land which is definitely worth seeing.

Quite popular so a reservation in summer time is recommended. Clean sanitary facilities, evening sauna included, well taken care pitches, friendly staff. Everything just works and that makes the visitor happy. This is one of my favorite camp sites.

Visitors should be aware that there are no refunds given for caravan/tent pitches if you pay for several days but leave early because of endless rain. We had paid for 3 days but left after 1 night when our pitch, tent and gear was soaked by rain, with no change in weather to be expected in the next several days. Staff informed us that there would be no refund of the two unused days, even though their cancellation policy says free cancellations before 16:00 the day before, which means at least one day should have been possible to cancel. If we had known this we would obviously only had paid for one night at a time, since the weather reports were bleak and we didn't know if we could endure the rain. Lesson learned. If we ever come back here (the location and campsite otherwise is great), we will definitely make multiple one day reservations instead of one spanning over several days.

Hi, Thank you for your stay and feedback! In the summer time sometimes it rains and sometimes the sun shines, but we can't do anything about the weather conditions. According to our terms of booking and cancellations, reservation can be modified until check in, after which the reservation is charged in full and unused nights won’t be refunded. It is possible to make reservations for one night, but we do not guarantee accommodation at the same place. In that case, be prepared to change places every day. Have a great summer!

First of all, we missed the opportunity to choose a camping pitch. We were allocated a place which was worn and without sun. On the second day, it rained so much that the entire camping pitch was under water. We walked around with water up to our calves, and the receptionists were not very accommodating when we wanted to change camping pitch. Only after we threatened to cancel our stay, were they suddenly able to move us to another camping pitch. The shower and toilets were poorly cleaned, a lot of noise from the traffic day and night. There was a festival in the local area, and some of the guests were partying at the camping location. We think that it was inappropriate among families with children. This could have been avoided if the location had better security. We will never come back.

Hi, Thank you for your stay and feedback! Sorry to hear it did not go well. When it rains, some places are wet and in July, we are full almost every day, so it is rarely possible to change your place. We will forward your feedback forward. Welcome back sometimes!

We stayed in a holiday cottage for the Midsummer holiday weekend.
These are great value and the on-site facilities are good but will be even better when the new reception building and restaurant are finished.
The facilities for campers have already been upgraded and there is an additional new family sauna - 15 euros per hour.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, we made several e-mail enquiries before our visit which were answered promptly.
It is possible to walk into the city but I would recommend hiring a bicycle and exploring Oulu's many cycle routes.

We stayed one night in a cottage at Nallikari as part of a road trip through Finland/Sweden.
It is big and very professionally run, more of a holiday village than a "camping". There is plenty of space for tents, and a range of cottage types for others. The reception is always busy and clearly services a lot of people every day.
We paid €45 for one night in a cottage that could sleep four (though we are just with two). It was generally clean and tidy, perfectly in line with expectations for a summer cottage. The refrigerator was not very powerful (didn't get fully cold until it was almost time to leave). More annoying than this, however, is that the mosquito screens were damaged -- meaning we could not open the windows. Since it was 28C, this made the cottage uncomfortably warm.
The service block was adequate and clean. For the number of campers, it is maybe a bit small (I had to queue for a shower), but they work very hard at keeping it clean. Taps in the sinks only have hot water, which is a bit odd when brushing your teeth.
Though we were not travelling with children, it is clear that this is a very family-friendly camping. Lots of facilities/possibilities for children, both for free as well as with extra charges. The possibility for a "family sauna" is a good service.
The beach is directly adjacent to the camping and just a short walk, very convenient. Note that it is the same beach that many locals also use, making it VERY busy when the weather is nice!
Oulu itself is super-close; definitely cycling distance and even walkable (for those who like a stroll). Bikes can be rented, but the price feels a bit steep to me: €15/day or €20/24-hours. For a family of four, it's quickly €60-80 for a day on the bikes. Bring your own if you can.
The cafe is good value-for-money for being on-site, with a selection of beer both on draft as well as for takeaway. And at normal market prices. The other products in the shop have an acceptable "convenience store" price level.
WiFi was frustrating: officially the whole campsite has WiFi access, but it is flaky and slow. I gave up on it after a little while.
For us, we would have preferred something a bit more rustic and less busy, but for those looking for a decent, (almost) everything-in-one-place holiday village for the family, this is a very good option.

A two-bedroom villa was the perfect alternative to a hotel on our driving tour. The villa had a very functional kitchen and a comfortable living room. Plus its own sauna. And a deck for enjoying the long June evening when the weather permits. (Be aware of the plentiful mosquitos.)
Our villa was a short walk to the beach and an easy walk to the restaurant at Nallikari.
Bedrooms are on the small side and there is no air conditioning which usually isn’t a major problem.
