Would normally consider the Torni to be slightly out of my budget but, having got a good rate from GTA, wanted to give it a try - particularly having heard about the views from the top floor bar. Found the service good - reception, bar and restaurant staff were very attentive. Single room was small (they often are) but was... more
This hotel is within easy walking distance of the main shopping streets and city centre. Staff are friendly and obliging. Helsinki was only an overnight stop enroute to St Petersbug but it was so lovely we wished we had spent several days there. more
I have stayed a couple of times at this hotel and really like it. Location is perfect for exploring the city centre and there are plenty of sights, shops and restaurants within the walking distance. The rooms have three different styles: art deco, art noveau and functionalism. I think it was an art deco room were I stayed on the... more
Situated in the heart of Helsinki, close to the main shopping and nightlife and gay bars we stayed at the Sokos Torni for Eurovision. The hotel is very clean, the breakfast is excellent with a wide range of foods and drinks. There is a hotel bar on the top floor where you can sit outside (if it's warm enough) and... more
My husband and I stayed at the Torni for two nights over new year and found it to be an average hotel. The hotel is positioned in a reasonably convenient location. We got a finnair bus from the airport to the city centre for 5.20 euro each which is really economical.and we walked to the hotel with our bags at... more
This is a nice hotel in the city center, close to both the railway and the bus station. The only downside was the small size of the breakfast room - it quickly got quite crowded during the peak hour. more
Coming back from Tallinn and having a flight back home the next day, we stayed a night in the Sokos. The location was very central, the hotel was nice as well. They were doing renovations. The furniture in the rooms was new, freshly painted and the bathroom was renewed. However, I was let down by a few things. We arrived... more
My wife, 7-month old son and I stayed one night at the Hotel Torni in between stops in Stockholm and Tallinn, Estonia while on holiday. The room was large (by European standards) and very well equipped with a large queen-sized bed, flat screen TV, fridge with mini-bar, etc. Getting a baby bed was not a problem and the one provided... more
The Torni offers just about everything one can ask for in an urban hotel. Short walk to great shopping and restaurants. It has an historic entrance and lobby area, yet the rooms have been beautifully and tastefully refurbished in contemporary style, right down to the plasma flat-screen TV. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Quiet, peaceful room despite the... more
